The miniDSP SHD (Streaming High Definition) is a high-end signal processor that features DiracLive® audio calibration and an embedded network audio streamer. MiniDSP has lots of experience with user-friendly DSP solutions, and the SHD belongs to the top of our DSP product range. Dirac Live is the reference digital room correction software. The powerful hardware from miniDSP and sophisticated correction algorithm from DiracLive are paired for a perfect stereo room correction system.
The DiracLive algorithm takes multiple in room measurements of your system, processes these measurements and creates correction filters accordingly. The measurement process is easy to execute, but requires a dedicated measurement microphone. Our recommendation is the miniDSP UMIK-1 USB measurement microphone. For even higher accuracy we recommend the miniDSP UMIK-2 reference measurement microphone. While setting up your system DiracLive allows you to model a target curve, so you can forward your acoustic preferences on the correction profile.
Two analog inputs, three digital inputs and USB audio make an easy connection interface for your favourite signal source. The processed signals are available as analog (balanced and unbalanced) outputs and as digital outputs. The network streaming is enabled by Volumio and runs on a quadcore ARM processor. Volumio is a widely used, open source network player. This allows you to playback music from local sources like USB drives and your local network, but also from your Tidal or Qobuz account.
Along with the room correction and streaming functionality, the SHD is also capable of full DSP crossover / equalizer applications. The powerful SHARC processor features 10 PEQ bands per channel, a matrix mixer, compressor, limiter and crossovers with a roll-off up to 48 dB/octave. This full featured digital signal processor enables you to build and tune applications ranging from subwoofer integration to a complete 2-way DSP controlled stereo speaker system.
Do you have the option to work without analog in- and outputs; check out the miniDSP SHD Studio. This features the same powerful processor and extended functionality, but has digital in- and outputs only. The miniDSP SHD Power is the SHD solution with an integrated, high-end stereo amplifier.

FAQ
Q: What is the difference between the SHD and SHD Studio?
A: The miniDSP SHD Studio does not have the AD (analog to digital) and DA (digital to analog) stage. Therefor you can only connect a digital signal source on the inputs and the outputs require an external DAC for the digital to analog conversion. Both devices feature the same functionality in terms of signal processing and streaming.
Q: I already have a measurement microphone. Can I use this microphone with the SHD and DiracLive?
A: The DiracLive setup is initiated from a computer. If your computer recognizes your microphone as input device it is expected to work with DiracLive.
